So, yes I have a Tumblr. I tend to post my art there as well as write the occasional over-the-top observation of a manga or game I am currently playing. One thing I pretty much never use it for is a forum to interact with other fans of things I like - one of my many handheld games or 90's shoujo manga from CLAMP or Naoko Takeuchi - mainly because listening to other people's "opinions" about these shows revolves around "who should be in a relationship with who" rather than anything of... substance. That I find more than a little tedious at times.
However, they also seem to be the forum for crazy people to argue about crap that doesn't matter. I do check out some of the blogs from time to time, one of the best ones being FY Controversial Characters, where people post in characters that are frequently vilified by fandoms and people are invited to post a defense for the character.
Recently, someone posted Zoisite from Sailor Moon Crystal. Then a defense was posted. This led to one of the oddest slagging matches ever. It isn't the worst but it is the most pointless as several fans - not even that many - mumble about whether or not Zoisite was "queer-erased" - a term I would never have heard if it hadn't been for Tumblr and God knows the world was a happier place when I didn't know terms like that were being thrown around - or not.
Anyway, just look under the "zoisite" tag on the blog and you'll see most of it. In the final post, the mod rightfully said they were ending the conversation. Honestly, one of the weirdest things in a long time but undeniably tame for Tumblr. I guess I found it significant because it related to a character that I like from a franchise I have done a lot of art of.
I would tell you my opinions on the character Zoisite in SMC but... yeah. Isn't it enough to say I like him and have no problems with him? Saying that doesn't make me unfaithful to the 90's version for God's sake. It is just so... bizarre.

Working progresses :P Also, Birthday.
So, it's my birthday on Sunday. In case some of the oldies who knew me back when are keeping score I still tend to get sad on my birthday.
I hadn't expected to get the second Val picture done because around 6pm it looked like this:
I actually tried to capture the whole process but I completely mucked up the screen capture process so I ended up capturing the wrong screen. Oh well, maybe next time.
Also, I'm working on a short origin piece for Zoe the Snivy (my semi-mascot around here). That's taking longer because I need to draw proper backgrounds again.
I have other bits and bobs lying around too but not sure what I'm going with them yet.
New name, new start.
I left DeviantArt for over a year.
Actually, I pretty much left most places on the internet. I'm only just getting back into it. I don't really want to go into all the details as to why as they are personal. The best thing to come out of that year-and-a-bit was that I actually managed to finish my Masters degree. Regardless, there was a lot going on and it has only been the last few months where I felt ready to get back into the things I used to do and enjoy.
Brexit and what it means to me
Hey, Sophie! Aren't you British?
Yep.
Got thoughts on the Brexit?
I guess.
Considering that I am British and we just had a potentially Earth-shattering, shaking and shocking referendum after which we opted to say "cheerio" to the broken dream that is the single-market of Europe. That is what the United Kingdom initially joined for, after all.
Twice we applied. It seemed like an absolutely amazing idea.
Then EU stopped being solely about trade/regulations and everything about an undemocratic big government. We found ourselves voting in MEPs to sit in the European Parliament and yet had no idea of what their purpose is. It seems the idea
Happy Day-After April Fools Day
I always skip the day itself because I never have a good prank to pull on anyone. One day I will think of a good one and trick you all, if only for a brief second. I'll take advantage of the time zone different between myself or my American fans or whatever.
Either way, let me quickly (and randomly) share with you all my favourite April Fools jokes from one of the channels I follow on Youtube. It's by JelloApocalypse and it is so good, you'll wish it was a real thing:
Got to admit that I love a good Abridged Series parody/episode/whatever.
Enjoy!

I always thought he was just another hammy alien bad guy who happened to look kind of pretty. Guess prettiness is a perk of being the Shitennou.
